lol everything. im not a programmer or anything, im used to .exe files installing stuff and when i was asked which type of files i wanna use i was lost. I basically know nothing about the OS.
I got what you're saying. Here's a quick start guide.
- Get the iso.
- Burn the iso to a CD-R. Ubuntu's site has a very good howto on this.
- Stick the burned CD into the computer you want to install Ubuntu on. I'd recommend a computer that you don't mind replacing Windows on. That makes everything simpler.
- Reboot the computer with the CD. It should boot from the CD and you will get a menu. Select Install Ubuntu.
- At this point, you will be presented with a series of dialogs. If you click Next or Finish on each of these, you should get a working Ubuntu install.
Oh no no.... i got it installed and everything, My problem is i can't understand how to efficiently use the OS. Like idk what to do in the terminal or how to install most things inside Ubuntu. I tried Downloading something, i think it was flash. it never worked within firefox.
TBH, the majority of my downloads I use add/remove software or whatever it's called- if you get it to accept all open source applications you should be golden.
Yeah, i mean i watch alot of videos on people who know what their doing with computers and they use linux. Basically i wanna learn how to hack and the things they do are available on linux usually only
