What are you playing?

I noticed that we have a what are you watching, and what are you reading thread and yet dont have a what ar eyou playing thread so here it is.

Right now i just started playing Fable II i've been playing for quite awhile now and so far i like it. I'm also playing Socom for the ps3 its fun if you like tactical shooters. Recently i've beaten Dead Space and Saints Row 2 and i enjoyed both of them.

Dead Space was a good survival horror and i recommend it to anyone who likes such games the controls are smooth and the atmosphere is very tense with a lot of nice scares.

Saints Row 2 is almost the opposite of GTA4 whereas GTA went for a more "realistic" approach SR2 was a bit over the top and more cartoony which works well for it. It also has a lot of fun stuff to do such as insurance fraud where you get to jump infront of oncoming traffic and Fuzz where you get to arrest people using extreme violence.

I just tried that out. I thought it was going to be another mindless beat 'em up, but Batman is not invincible. Batman needs to be stealthy when facing assault rifles and the gameplay during these portions is flexible. The player can do whatever they want at their own pace. The AI is interesting too. String someone up from a gargoyle, which are inside an asylum for some reason, and everyone has to take a look. After that, they scuttle around swinging their firearms around while speaking some believable, nervous dialog. The stealth portion is made easy by Batman's X-ray specks, or what the developers call Detective Mode.

Nice way to jerk the player around at the end of the demo too. Play it to see. :D

Speaking of demos, I also played the Crystal Defenders demo. It's a camouflaged tower defense game. Instead of towers, we get SNES era Final Fantasy sprites. I'm kinda confused why they released this for the PS3 when it would be more of a fit graphics-wise for the PSP. The object of the game is to stop a string of monsters starting at point A from reaching point B, which is connected by the yellow brick road. You do this by placing a combination of purchased warriors, black mages, and archers on the grass on around the road. You can't put anyone on the road because it's hot lava to your slaves just as the grass in hot lava to the monsters. After that, if you've placed other tower defense games, then you've played this one.
