What are you playing?
I noticed that we have a what are you watching, and what are you reading thread and yet dont have a what ar eyou playing thread so here it is.
Right now i just started playing Fable II i've been playing for quite awhile now and so far i like it. I'm also playing Socom for the ps3 its fun if you like tactical shooters. Recently i've beaten Dead Space and Saints Row 2 and i enjoyed both of them.
Dead Space was a good survival horror and i recommend it to anyone who likes such games the controls are smooth and the atmosphere is very tense with a lot of nice scares.
Saints Row 2 is almost the opposite of GTA4 whereas GTA went for a more "realistic" approach SR2 was a bit over the top and more cartoony which works well for it. It also has a lot of fun stuff to do such as insurance fraud where you get to jump infront of oncoming traffic and Fuzz where you get to arrest people using extreme violence.
Okay, been too long since somebody posted in here so here goes.
Right now I'm playing Modern Warfare 2 until Final Fantasy XIII comes out tomorrow but theres been quite a few good releases that I've enjoyed recently.
Bayonetta was great fun once they finally patched it and fixed the load times on the PS3 version. Great combat and it was pretty funny most of the way through despite the strange story.
Dante's Inferno I had a ton of fun with but the last few circles fell a bit flat for me. Enemy design stopped being so surprising/disturbing but it was still generally good all the way through.
Darksiders was amazing even with it ripping off so many aspects of other games and I've rarely gotten excited over an ending as much as I did over that one.
I'm most of the way through BioShock 2 and I like that one a lot but I don't think it's quite as good as the first installment was. I think the shock value of the atmosphere wore off a bit but the new combat style made up for it a bit.
I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting but maybe this will spark some conversation around here.
Conversation? In this ghost town? :P
I've played FFXIII. It's kind of too easy. You only control one character and your nakama follow behaviors defined in a paradigm, like punch the enemy in the nuts or avoid getting punched in your nuts. You also don't have to worry about healing outside of battle. Every fight you start with full HP. The fighting is real time, like Chrono Trigger, and each move takes a number of bites out of an action bar, like Chrono Cross. No XP in this one. After several chapters, your characters will be able to use magic. At this point, you will be able to expand a skill map, with HP/MP upgrades, by killing enemies.
It's alright so far. I need to play it more.
