I watched maybe 15 mins of the first episode but I wasn't in the mood for anime at the time but I wasn't sure if I wanted to delete it from my HDD or watch it first. But it wasn't my favorite...it somewhat made me think of Naruto with the being really popular without anything particularly special about it.
That being said I diiiiiiiiiiid only watch 15 mins of it ;)
On that note the reason I had it downloaded in the first place was for a friend
I would classify Death Note as more of a cult classic whereas Naruto is popular because it has ninjas.
You should read the first ten chapters of Death Note. Then, you should have a good idea if you'll like the rest.
I may watch more of the anime but Im not a huuuuge fan of manga to begin with, but I might try it...
Manga is great IMHO.
I can get through anime an a rate of one episode every 22 to 25 minutes, depending on the series. Each episode of anime is equal to two or three chapters of manga. I can get through a chapter of manga in two to five minutes, depending on the series. I can simply go through them more efficiently. I still watch the anime of series I really like though, like Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece.
Manga gives you beautiful artwork, in some series anyway.
Seeing the latest musing of the mangaka is always fun too.
I suppose, but I guess my major beef with Manga is that I don't like how add filled they can be, and I am a fast reader, not an efficient one... so I tend to read the text and rarely take time to appreciate the pictures. Also another problem could be most of the manga I pick up aren't the best ones... in one title I would like to summarize my negative manga experience with... Battle Royale... but I will give Death Note another chance and manga another chance :P I will read the death note manga and give both a second chance in one shot
